Then on Saturday we met up with my long lost cousin, Scotty, at the Trail of the Ten Falls. We saw lots of caves, trees, moss-covered rocks, sticks, and wet shoes, but just one waterfall -- the kids had way too much fun with my cousin's kids along the quarter-mile of the trail that we actually did cover. One down, nine to go.

Hiking
So, it turns out that Oregon is quite the land of beauty. After almost 3 years as residents, we finally discovered some of its hidden treasures. On Labor Day we found a fun little hiking spot right in Portland with lots of "camping trees", as Jane calls them. Perfect family outing, not too far from home...

wow! beauty. we have hiking here too...just in case you were thinking of moving back?!
I discovered this summer that Oregon is wonderful! So many beautiful mountains, lakes, and other things. Next time we're up there, I will get a hold of you. We miss you guys and George's impromptu Roadshows.
That tree is awesome! You will have to tell me where it is. I love hiking in Oregon - especially when the kids can start hiking all by themselves.
